Cancellations:

There is no charge to cancel if the request is received by May 6. A $1 cancellation fee will be charged for each canceled ticket beginning May 7.


The deadline has passed for recipe submissions, but please review the eligibility requirements below and start dreaming up a delicious recipe for 2018!

You are welcome to submit recipes for the second cooking competition of the Confucius Institute at UC Davis. The competition consists of two rounds. In the first round, you submit an original detailed recipe which includes at least one photo, all measured ingredients, and all cooking steps for the finished dish, You must also incorporate at least one Lee Kum Kee sauce* into your recipe.  If your recipe is selected for the final round, you will be invited to prepare the dish on site on May 13, 2017. The deadline for recipe submissions is April 1 at 5 pm PST.

Eligibility:     Must be age 18 or above 

                    Professional chefs & cooks are not eligible to enter the competition.

                    2016 Innovative Cooking Competition finalists are not eligible to enter
                     the competition.

                 4.  Use of one or more Lee Kum Kee sauces* in the recipe

Prizes:

  • First Prize (1): $1000

  • Second Prize (2): $600 each
                                    
  • Third Prize (3): $300 each
                            

Submission:  Send your original recipe listing all ingredients & step-by-step instructions, along with a color photo(s) of the finished dish (up to 2 MB) by email to Kate Zhang at wkzhang@ucdavis.edu

Deadline: April 1, 2017 by 5:00 pm PST (Late submissions will not be considered.)

On-Site Competition Saturday, May 13, 2017. Final location to be announced. Each finalist will provide his/her own ingredients for the recipe and will have 45 minutes to make the dish in the kitchen.

Copyrights:  Winning recipes will become the property of Confucius Institute at UC Davis. Winners agree to give CI permissions for reprint and other future uses.

Contestants are solely responsible for ownership of their recipes. Confucius Institute at UC Davis is not liable under any circumstances. Contestants are finacially responsible for supplying all needed tools and cooking ingredients. Winning recipes will become the property of the Confucius Institute at UC Davis. The winners give the Confucius Institute at UC Davis permissions for reprint and future uses.
