Dr. Michelle Yeh received her Ph.D. in comparative literature from the University of Southern California. She is currently Professor and Chair of the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at the University of California at Davis. Her major publications include critical studies and translations of modern Chinese poetry, such as Modern Chinese Poetry: Theory and Practice since 1917From the Margin: An Alternative Tradition of Modern Chinese PoetryEssays on Modern Poetry from Taiwan (monographs), and Anthology of Modern Chinese PoetryNo Trace of the Gardener: Poems of Yang MuA Lifetime Is a Promise to Keep: Poems of Huang Xiang (English translations). In addition, she is an editor of books and journals, as well as an author of prose and a book on aromatics.
